Netralayam is a registered charitable trust in India serving visually impaired children and women by providing shelter, education and various life skills to help them find employment in mainstream and be self sufficient and independent. It is founded by Shri Lakshmi Narayana, who was 7 years old when he lost his eye vision due to chickenpox. Since that time through Braille script, he completed his education and is employed as a Government school teacher. He strongly believes, his education has helped him settle down in his life. And with that strong belief he founded Netralayam on Oct 2nd, 2006 "Gandhi Jayanthi", a home for visually impaired children and girls to provide shelter, education, life skills and help them get employed in public or private sector and lead a respectable life. Till date, Six women from the organization are placed in various Government sectors. For their mental alacrity, music is taught and for self employment purpose, they are taught how to make chalk.
For the maintenance and sustenance of the ashram, generous support is needed. No help is little. “”Helping hands are precious than praying lips””
